New electronic forms and application software are being implemented at the University of Maryland to support university business processes. Staff will be required to learn new applications and new ways of "doing business". They will cover:
  • Personnel
  • Payroll
  • Travel
  • Purchasing
  • Budgeting
  • Accounting
  • Accounts Payable
  • Equipment Inventory

When fully implemented, all employees will initiate nearly all personnel and business transactions using a desktop computer. Paper forms will disappear, and our current, cumbersome, time-consuming manual procedures will be replaced by stream-lined electronic process.

Therefore it is important that all employees possess basic updated skills. The learning of new skills, and the use of those skills, will make our work more interesting and help you become more productive!
